Open Mind (Deputy Minister/Stage Luck – 1986) will be inducted next Friday into the Horse Racing Hall of Fame in Saratoga Springs.  Other inductees include trainer Jerry Hollendorfer, and fillies Safely Kept and Sky Beauty.  Open Mind was sold by Brookdale Sales in the 1987 Fasig-Tipton Saratoga Sale for $150,000.  She was bred by Due Process Stables and was purchased by D. Wayne Lucas.   She won the 1988 G1 Breeder’s Cup Juvenile Fillies, 1988 G1 Demoiselle Stakes, 1989 G1 Kentucky Oaks, 1989 G1 Acorn Stakes, 1989 G1 Mother Goose Stakes, 1989 G1 American Oaks and 1989 G1 Alabama Stakes.  She retired with earnings of $1,844,372.
