Brookdale Grad SERENGETI EMPRESS (4,f, Alternation/Havisham) set blistering fast fractions on Saturday but was determined down the stretch to win the G1 Ballerina Stakes at Saratoga.  Second last year in the G1 Test at the same distance, Serengeti Empress would not let anyone get by her in the stretch to win by a length.  The win on Saturday also guaranteed her a spot in the G1 Breeders Cup Filly and Mare Sprint later this fall at Keeneland as the race was a Win & You’re In Race for the Breeders Cup. She now has 7 wins in 17 lifetime starts and has earned $1,907,653.  She was purchased by Brookdale Farm and JR Ward Stables at the 2016 Keeneland November Sale and sold the following year to current owner Joel Politi at the 2017 Keeneland September Sale.
