Meet the Brookdale Team

Brookdale Farm, situated one mile from downtown Versailles, was founded in 1983 by Fred Seitz. He named the farm after the place where he was raised, a training farm near Lincroft, New Jersey. The original farm has since been converted into a community college and a state park, still bearing the name Brookdale.

Brookdale Farm operates as a nursery, racehorse lay-up and sales preparation facility. Since 1983, Brookdale has been home to such top horses as two-time Leading Sire Deputy Minister, Crafty Prospector, Forest Wildcat and Silver Deputy. Some other recent Grade 1 performers that were born and/or raised at Brookdale include Tapit, I’ll Have Another, Serengeti Empress, Stopchargingmaria, California Memory, Marley’s Freedom, Harmonize, Noble Bird, Var and Bluebird to name a few.

At Brookdale, our goal is to provide top care at every level of our work, from horsemanship and veterinary care to personal attention to our clients in breeding and sales advice.

We offer year-round boarding for racing and sales-oriented clients. Our professional staff of highly experienced horsepeople and veterinarians provide the attention necessary to properly operate a commercial horse farm at the highest level.
