Brookdale Grad, Double Bass, Breaks Maiden

Double Bass (3, c, Bernardini/ Dundrummin') broke his maiden on Saturday in a MSW at Delaware Park.  The 3-year old was bred in Virginia by Audley Farm and was sold at 2010 Keeneland September Sale. Best of luck to all his connections!

I’ll Have Another to Face Eleven in His Bid for the Triple Crown

Post positions were drawn this morning for the 2012 Belmont Stakes which drew a field of 12. Kentucky Derby and Preakness winner, I'll Have Another will break from post position 11 on Saturday in his quest to be the first horse since Affirmed in 1978 to complete the Triple Crown. I'll Have Another was made the 4-5 morning line favorite.

I’ll Have Another Triumphant in 2nd Leg of the Triple Crown (Video)

I'll Have Another is one step closer to the Triple Crown after capturing the Preakness Stakes (Gr. I) on Saturday at Pimlico.  I'll Have Another sat off the pace for the majority of the race and was able to run down fellow Brookdale Grad, Bodemeister at the wire to win by a neck. The 3-year old Flower Alley colt  was bred in Kentucky by Harvey

3 Brookdale Grads Entered for Preakness Stakes

Kentucky Derby winner I'll Have Another along with Brookdale Grads Bodemeister and Cozzetti are three of the eleven horses entered in Saturday's Preakness Stakes.  Bodemeister was installed as the 8/5 morning line favorite and will be breaking from post position 7.  I'll Have Another was made the second choice at 5/2 odds and will break from post 9.  New to the Triple Crown races is

3 Brookdale Grads Probable for 138th Preakness

It was confirmed on Monday, that Kentucky Derby runner up Bodemeister will start in the Preakness Stakes on May 19th.  Along with Derby winner I'll Have Another and fellow Brookdale Grad Cozzetti who are also probable starters.  Entries for Saturday's race will be drawn later this week.

I’ll Have Another arrives at Pimlico for Preakness

I'll Have Another arrived Monday evening to Pimlico Racetrack.   He was back on the track Wednesday morning for the first time since his Derby win.  It looks to be a full field of 14 for next week's Preakness Stakes at Pimlico with fellow Brookdale Grads Bodemeister and Cozzetti as possible runners.
