It was confirmed on Monday, that Kentucky Derby runner up Bodemeister will start in the Preakness Stakes on May 19th. Along with Derby winner I'll Have Another and fellow Brookdale Grad Cozzetti who are also probable starters. Entries for Saturday's race will be drawn later this week.
I'll Have Another arrived Monday evening to Pimlico Racetrack. He was back on the track Wednesday morning for the first time since his Derby win. It looks to be a full field of 14 for next week's Preakness Stakes at Pimlico with fellow Brookdale Grads Bodemeister and Cozzetti as possible runners.
On Saturday May 5th, Brookdale Grads I'll Have Another (Flower Alley/Arch's Gal Edith) and Bodemeister (Empire Maker/Untouched Talent) finished 1-2 in 138th running of the Kentucky Derby (Gr. I). After a "TDN Rising Star" performance back on March 10th, Cigar Street (Street Sense/Arcadiana) followed up with a 4th place finish in the Louisana Derby (Gr. II) on April 1st at the Fairgrounds. The 3 year old colt was bred in Kentucky by the partnership of Marvin Delfiner, Ted Folkerth, and Brookdale Farm.
