Brookdale Grad Indian Carlie Wins ALW at MNR

Indian Carlie (Indian Charlie/Relaxing Green, 4, f) was 1st on Tuesday in an allowance race at Mountaineer.  Indian Carlie was bred in Kentucky by Jack Swain and is owned by Gold Mark Farms.  The filly was sold for $170,000 in the 2008 Keeneland September sale.

Curlin Filly sells for $700,000 at Keeneland September

A Curlin Filly out of Tears I Cry sold for $700,000 during the second session of Book 1 at the Keeneland September sale.  The chestnut filly was bred in Kentucky by Highgrove Stud and was purchased by West Point Thoroughbreds.

Brookdale Grad, Brother Pat, Breaks Maiden at Calder

Brother Pat (Any Given Saturday/Any How, 2, c) broke his maiden last on August 13th at Calder in his first start.  The colt was bred in Kentucky by Jack Swain and was sold in the 2010 Keeneland September sale for $40,000.  Best of luck to his connections in the future.

Hip 130, Bernardini/Habiboo Colt, Sells for $725,000

Hip 130 (Bernardini/Habiboo C.) sold for $725,000 on the second night of the Fasig-Tipton Saratoga Select Sale.  The stunning colt was bred by Hardacre farm in Ocala, Florida and is the second foal out of the GII stakes placed Habiboo.   Best of luck to his new owners!

I’ll Have Another – 2nd in GII Best Pal S.

I'll Have Another (Flower Alley/Arch's Gal Edith, c, 2) was 2nd on Sunday in the GII Best Pal Stakes at Delmar.  The 2yo was bred in Kentucky by Harvey Clarke and was sold by Brookdale in the 2010 Keeneland September sale for $11,000.   Best of luck to his connections.

Sean Avery Wins Grade 1 Vanderbilt

Sean Avery (Cherokee Run/Latin Lynx, g, 5) won the G1 Alfred G. Vanderbilt on Sunday at Saratoga.  Sean Avery was bred in Kentucky by Darley and was sold by Brookdale in the 2007 Keeneland September sale for $30,000.  Best of luck in the future to his connections.

Brookdale Graduate, Open Mind, to be Inducted into the HOF

Open Mind (Deputy Minister/Stage Luck - 1986) will be inducted next Friday into the Horse Racing Hall of Fame in Saratoga Springs.  Other inductees include trainer Jerry Hollendorfer, and fillies Safely Kept and Sky Beauty.  Open Mind was sold by Brookdale Sales in the 1987 Fasig-Tipton Saratoga Sale for $150,000.  She was bred by Due Process Stables and was purchased by D. Wayne Lucas.   She

Play Eighteen 2nd in Jamestown Stakes

Brookdale graduate, Play Eighteen (Henny Hughes/Gone Golfing), was 2nd on Saturday in the Jamestown Stakes at Colonial.  The 2yo colt broke his maiden first time out at the beginning of July and followed up that victory with a black-type placing in the Jamestown Stakes.  The Henny Hughes colt was bred in Kentucky by Audley Farm Equine and was sold in the Keeneland September 2010 sale
